"TripAdvisor far surpasses Yelp when it comes to planning a trip. The userbase is very helpful, whereas I find people on Yelp to be cocky and condescending and too try-hard when it comes to humor. I recently used it to plan a backpacking trip across Europe. Every recommendation that I followed was a good one."

"The usual travel blog just covers things you'd want to see when you're on an epic road trip, but Culinary Backstreets is different. It takes you through all of the little hole in the wall joints that serve the best of the best, handed down for generations cuisine that you just can never quite duplicate at home. It doesn't stop there though - through these little family businesses they also bring you the human stories behind them, which is endlessly interesting. They also make me hungry every time I read an article."

""That Backpacker" is a good travel blog, though it does not stand out a lot from other alternatives, so whether you'll really love it is a matter of taste. That said, the author has been to a variety of places and is an above average writer and quite the photographer.
