"TripAdvisor far surpasses Yelp when it comes to planning a trip. The userbase is very helpful, whereas I find people on Yelp to be cocky and condescending and too try-hard when it comes to humor. I recently used it to plan a backpacking trip across Europe. Every recommendation that I followed was a good one."

"Well, this certainly does offer up a solution to the problem of "resources for low-cost traveling." However, for safety reasons, I don't think it's something I would personally partake in. I did read their "Safety Basics" page and I found it to be a little lacking. Although they do state that they take the users' safety seriously, they also pretty much say that the safety of the user is the user's responsibility."

    DID YOU KNOW

Did you know that based on research, spending your money on travel actually makes you happier than spending your money on material goods? Just like what Saint Augustine once said, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page". This suggests that if one did not experience traveling, he or she may end up not being able to discover and learn the beauty of other places and culture. Travel experience is one of the most memorable life experiences one can have, and this suggests that it has a great impact on a person's life because of the memories and learnings it brings. Thus, more and more people are investing money on travels. Not only does it make them happy, but it also gives the feeling of satisfaction since it gives them an opportunity to unwind and escape from an 8-hour office job. Have you ever wanted to go anywhere but your wallet can't afford to? Several ways are being considered in order to save money when traveling. Some people are searching for vacation dealscheap flights, cheap accommodations, and good itineraries because at the end of the day, it is always about the place, the memories and the experience.

It also gives you the skinny on exchange rates and how to avoid getting taken. The overall site is the well-known (from travel books) Fodor's. It has extensive information for all your travel needs but the outside advertising on the site was annoying and intrusive in that it exhibited some seizure-inducing flashing and made the page jump around as I tried to scroll. I have to take off points for that."

"I am so not ever using Google Flights when I'm in the market for low-cost travel. It's convenient in that you can just Google an airline and it pops up there on top of your search results, no extra navigation to another site needed, but it does NOT find you the best deal by any stretch. I compared prices for one particular flight and found that Google didn't show all the options, which range wildly in price. If I had booked through Google Flights, I would have paid twice what it costs by going directly to the carrier's site. Google, you have a lot of work to do on this particular feature! Not recommended."

"The Google Flights website is a good concept and a useful tool, but it doesn't cover all the airlines out there. For instance, it doesn't list prices for Southwest or JetBlue. I usually only fly through Southwest, and find it to be a more affordable and better value flight, especially if I'm taking along checked luggage. One thing I find very useful is that it shows you flight prices day-by-day, and from month-to-month, up to a certain point. You can see flight price trends, and can see what days are cheaper than others. Just keep in mind, there are other travel tools out there to help you get a better deal. This should just be one of them."

"One night I had to make an emergency trip to Thailand to help a family member who was struggling with a health issue and I immediately hopped on Google Flights and booked a trip from Montana to Thailand with only one layover and it was the cheapest ticket I ever purchased for going to Thailand. I will never use any other website because Google Fights has the most competitive pricing, best deals, and easiest to use interface for getting all of your travel plans made. Google Flights literally saved me hundreds of dollars and it allowed me to be there for the family member I love. Thank you Google Flights for being there when I needed you."

"Well, sure, I can figure out how to use the calendar in a foreign language, and I can see the hotels that are the cheapest, that's the same no matter what language I might speak. However, once it gets down to price and information about the accommodations, I have to go figure out the currency rate between Euros and dollars, and then I have to either use a translator, or I have to go find the website for the actual hotels and read what they have to offer...which is going against the entire idea of using one website to see them all at the same time. If I was French speaking, this would be great, but I'm not so it's not so great."

"Google flights is one of the best ways to find a variety of flights to a wide array of destinations. It costs nothing to search; I would recommend using this service before going near a travel agent! When my husband and I booked a flight to visit his mother in Omsk, Russia, we found it even easier than calling Aeroflot directly, AND we were able to get round-trip tickets for under 1,400.00 per person. Google Flights is an excellent resource for low-cost travelling. We're flying back out to Omsk on the 24th; the money we saved on our last two trips home paid for this one!"

"Google Flights makes it so much easier to find and plan vacations. Instead of pouring over various travel websites or going onto individual airport sites, Google Flights pulls data all into one location. You simply pick your leave date, your return date (unless it's one-way), your airports, and then a huge list of available flights are shown. The list of flights show pricing, seating style (first class, coach, etc), the number of connecting flights, and arrival times. It really does cut down on all the headaches of planning a trip. I use it every time that I need to fly!"

"The first rule of air travel in my house is don't buy a ticket without searching google flights first. Seriously. We're obsessed with google flights since we did a price comparison for a trip from ATL to Brazil and discovered that by going this route versus using an agent or even booking directly from an airline, we could save a whopping $232 per ticket which doesn't seem much until you consider the fact that we were buying 4 tickets! I also love how google flights shows you how much you can save by flying on certain days based on what dates you put in the search."

"I didn't know about Google Flights until it popped up the last couple times I did Google searches for plane tickets. I loved how simple and clean the interface was, compared to all the other travel sites I've used that are bloated with options, ads, and popups. It's nice not to wait for a million things to load every time I just want to do a quick check on whether flight prices have changed. The best part for me is the calendar view, which shows you the lowest priced flights every day of the month - super convenient when I had flexible travel dates."

Google Travel is incredibly competitive in terms of pricing, options, and amenities for booking flights across the world. Google Flights allows you to make a travel plan with the click of your mouse anytime and place. I once had to wake up at 3am and make a last minute flight plan from San Francisco to Singapore because of family issues and google flights put me on a cheap direct, one way flight that got me there in less than 10 hours to deal with the emergency."

"So this one is a bit weird. Google Flights itself is definitely a good tool for helping to minimize costs while travelling. However the solution link took me to the Spanish language version of the site, when the topic was clearly entered in English. This, in my eyes, kind of creates an obvious disconnect between the solution and what I would actually need. The description is pretty good; explains what the site does and stresses the ability to help me get "affordable" tickets. I just wish it found me the right version of the site."
